Benidorm

Originally a small fishing village, the modern Benidorm seemed to have almost sprung up overnight during the 1960′s into a teeming metropolis of skyscrapers, luxury hotels and accompanying bars, restaurants, night clubs and shopping centres.

Constructed according to a set complex formula requiring strict provision of leisure and park areas this modern city doesn’t have the crowded, cement enclosed feel of many other popular contemporary cities.

Still very much a beach resort the city is strung out behind three major Blue Flag award beaches; Llevante, Poniente and Mal Pas. The long, wide, white sand beaches with the backdrop of skyscrapers and the mountains behind them have become the trademark picture of Benidorm and the varied and active nightlife attracts many younger people to this bustling city.

The seafront has a laid back Mediterranean atmosphere inviting you to relax in the sunshine at one of the many bars and restaurants catering to a wide variety of tastes and just enjoy the sea view.

The many activities available for those who prefer not to just relax in the glorious sunshine are varied including waterskiing, windsurfing, riding, biking, bowling, golf, karting, tennis and there are even micro-light planes for those who want to try something different.

The city does have some excellent museums and parks for those who are interested in culture, history and nature. In fact, you can be sure that whatever your interests you will not get bored in Benidorm.
